DevOps Engineer

Genome is everything users need from the traditional banks, but safer, faster and completely online.

We are a Lithuanian-based Electronic Money Institution licensed by the Bank of Lithuania.

Genome is a B2B/B2C EU-oriented company, which offers personal, business, and merchant account opening, payment processing, money exchange, internal, SEPA, and SWIFT transfers, as well as other banking operations completely online. Clients can manage all their funds and accounts within our smart dashboard, which is in a desktop version, or through an app on Android and iOS.

Genome is looking for a DevOps Engineer !

1.Infrastructure Management:

• design, build, and maintain scalable, reliable, and secure infrastructure;

• manage and monitor cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, etc.);

• implement infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.

2. Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD):

• set up and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate testing and deployment processes;

• work with tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI, or similar.

3. Configuration Management:

• automate configuration management using tools like Ansible, Chef, or Puppet;

• ensure consistency across development, staging, and production environments.

4. Monitoring and Logging:

• implement and manage monitoring solutions to ensure system performance and availability (Zabbix, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, etc.);

• set up logging systems and analyze logs to troubleshoot and resolve issues.

5. Security:

• implement security best practices and ensure compliance with security standards;

• manage access control and identity management systems.

6. Collaboration and Support:

• collaborate with development teams to streamline code deployment and integration processes;

• provide support for development, testing, and production environments.

7. Automation and Scripting:

• develop automation scripts for repetitive tasks using shell scripts, Python, or other scripting languages;

• improve deployment automation processes.

8. Backup, Upgrades, Recovery and Documentation:

• implement and manage backup and disaster recovery strategies;

• ensure data integrity and availability;

• execute system upgrades and maintenance activities;

• ensure minimal downtime and disruption during updates.;

• maintain comprehensive documentation of infrastructure, configurations, processes, and procedures;

• create user guides and operational manuals for internal teams.

9. Performance Optimization and Incident Management:

• monitor system performance and implement optimizations to improve efficiency;

• troubleshoot performance issues and resolve bottlenecks;

• respond to and resolve system incidents and outages;

• conduct root cause analysis and implement preventive measures.

• 2+ years of experience in a DevOps role;
• strong experience with AWS (EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch);
• hands-on experience with Terraform and infrastructure as code;
• practical experience with Nomad + Consul (or Kubernetes as an alternative);
• experience with MySQL: replication setup, backup and recovery (e.g. Percona XtraBackup, snapshots);
• experience with monitoring tools: Prometheus, Grafana, Zabbix;
• experience with configuration management: Puppet preferred, Ansible or Chef as alternatives;
• working knowledge of Docker and Linux (RHEL/CentOS/Rocky);
• scripting skills in Bash or Python;
• basic understanding of Nginx, RabbitMQ, Elasticsearch is a plus;
• good level of English language skills (spoken, written).
