Legal and Compliance Officer

Genome is everything users need from the traditional banks, but safer, faster and completely online. We are a Lithuanian-based Electronic Money Institution licensed by the Bank of Lithuania. Genome is a B2B/B2C EU-oriented company, which offers personal, business, and merchant account opening, payment processing, money exchange, internal, SEPA, and SWIFT transfers, as well as other banking operations completely online. Clients can manage all their funds and accounts within our smart dashboard, which is in a desktop version, or through an app on Android and iOS.

Genome is looking for a Legal and Compliance Officer !

• monitor legal developments in areas relevant to the company’s activities (Fintech, Payments, Electronic Money, AML, etc.) and provide advice, participate on their implementation;
• participate in compliance monitoring of company activities and processes, including conducting compliance checks, identifying legal and regulatory risks, proposing corrective actions, and following up on action plans;
• participate in internal and external audits by providing legal expertise and ensuring timely responses;
• conduct training sessions for employees on applicable laws and internal regulations;
• prepare, analyze, and submit legal documents (requests, responses) to regulatory authorities, public institutions, associations;
• analyze and provide legal opinions or responses in disputes involving clients, partners, or other third parties;
• develop, review, and update internal policies and other documentation to ensure alignment with regulatory changes and the company’s risk management framework;
• draft, review, negotiate, and finalize contracts (including outsourcing requirements, DORA or other compliance requirements), ensuring they meet legal and regulatory requirements and align with internal procedures;
• provide legal opinions and consultations to management, business units, and employees on matters related to regulatory compliance and legal obligations.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Law;
• 3+ years of experience in legal and compliance roles, preferably in fintech, banking or financial services;
• strong knowledge of financial institutions and financial service regulations, DORA, AML, GDPR;
• experience with regulatory inspections and audits;
• fluency in English and Lithuanian;
• excellent communication and problem-solving skills;
• ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional and international teams;
• ability to present information accurately, timely, and clearly, as well as to provide feedback to parties involved.

Compensation

Salary range : €4,000 - €4,300 gross monthly*

*Final compensation will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, skills, and previous experience
