Chief Accountant

Genome is a fully digital financial platform that delivers everything users expect from traditional banking, faster, safer, and online. We are a Lithuania-based Electronic Money Institution licensed by the Bank of Lithuania, serving both businesses and individuals, primarily across the EU and beyond.

Our platform offers a wide range of services, including dedicated IBAN accounts, payment processing, currency exchange, and local and international transfers (SEPA and SWIFT). Clients can manage their finances through a smart, intuitive dashboard available on desktops, as well as mobile apps for iOS and Android.

Genome is looking for a Chief Accountant!

Accounting & Compliance Excellence

• Ensure full accounting compliance with company policy, IFRS, and the Bank of Lithuania’s reporting requirements.
• Develop, approve, and optimize accounting-related business processes to match Genome’s growth.
• Supervise daily operations, including administrative and payroll accounting.
• Manage tax assessments and ensure timely submission of all required tax filings.
• Act as a key participant in our "4-eyes approach," approving and creating systemic payment transactions within the Genome system.

Regulatory Reporting

• Take full ownership of financial compliance regarding BoL audit and regulatory procedures.
• Stay ahead of the curve: initiate changes and corrective actions in response to legislative updates or new BoL requirements.
• Prepare and submit critical information to regulatory bodies with precision.

Audit & internal control

• Direct financial audits and champion improvements wherever internal control weaknesses are identified.
• Lead the preparation and submission of all necessary documentation for external auditors.

Team Leadership

• Recruit, build, and develop a center of excellence within the finance team.
• Define clear individual and team goals, guiding performance to ensure targets are hit.
• Foster a culture of high work ethics and commitment, setting the gold standard for your team.

• Higher education in the financial field.
• 5+ years of overall experience in a senior accounting role, 3+ years in Fintech is a must.
• Deep understanding of IFRS and Bank of Lithuania reporting requirements is a must.
• Comfortable working with modern financial systems and automated processes (Dynamics 365 Business Central).
• Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a team, with a focus on professional development.
• Possess the ability to learn a massive amount of knowledge in a short period of time.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Fluency in English and Lithuanian (our primary working languages).

Compensation

Salary: from €5,300 gross monthly*

*Final compensation will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, skills and previous experience.
