Can I use my multi-currency account for international transfers?
Yes, Genome’s multi-currency accounts support international transfers (SWIFT), allowing users to send and receive money with ease. Businesses can make payments in multiple currencies to contractors, suppliers, business partners, and more!
How does a multi-currency bank account work?
A person might require a multi-currency bank account to receive and hold payments in multiple currencies at the same time. However, not all traditional banks and payment service providers offer multi-currency bank accounts. This is how it works within Genome: you will first need to open a Euro business account and pass the KYC procedure. Once you are done, you will be able to open more accounts in GBP, EUR, USD, PLN, CHF, JPY, CAD, CZK, HUF, SEK, and AUD. The process will take seconds to complete! All these are easily manageable from the Genome app or the web browser. You will be able to transfer money between your multi-currency accounts whenever you feel like it. As for merchant services*, you can accept payments in over 20 currencies, which will be converted into the currency of the settlement account you will choose among your EUR, GBP, and USD accounts.
*Please note that Genome’s merchant services have been temporarily unavailable since September 2024.
What is the difference between a multi-currency bank account and a bank account?
The multi-currency bank account is more suitable for businesses that branch out to different countries or get paid in many different currencies. Genome's business account serves as a multi-currency one, as you can receive transfers and store funds in different currencies. With Genome, you can open up to five business accounts in each respective currency: EUR, GBP, USD, PLN, CHF, JPY, CAD, CZK, HUF, SEK, and AUD.
Who can open a multi-currency account?
Any client that opens a business account within Genome gets access to its multi-currency accounts. All you have to do is join Genome, pass the KYC, and open multiple accounts that can hold different currencies from the dashboard.
